In an essay, you present a case. It doesn't matter whether you're saying why a certain word embodies you or what motivated a character to do something in a book; it doesn't matter whether you appeal to emotions or logic; what matters is that you take a stance, articulate it, and defend it. Lindsay understands this. When she gives feedback on essays, it goes beyond "I liked this part and this part was meh; make the essay more like this part"; it's "this part should be where you stake your claim; say what you want to say more directly" or "if you want to appeal to the emotions here, try this word instead." Having anyone go over an essay is helpful; having someone who knows as much about writing as Lindsay go over an essay is invaluable.

We used a different college consultant for our older son and weren't sure exactly what to expect the 2nd time around. We couldn't have been more pleased. Lindsay was amazing! In addition to her extensive knowledge on schools and great advice on improving chances for getting in, Lindsay has a way of connecting with her students so that they want to do the work that's needed. She takes the time to truly get to know them, and will make recommendations based on what she thinks is best for the student while also listening to what concerns the parents and student might have. She was great with follow up when our son needed to get something done and did an amazing job of motivating him. Lindsay took the time to get to know what makes our daughter Elizabeth tick, which helped them to develop a strong working relationship very early in the process.
